1. Workshop on quantitative methods in the CCIs research (Room CR2)

Coordinator: Nikolaos Tsigilis, assistant professor, School of Journalism & Mass Media Studies, Aristotle University.

Procedure: The analysis of actual research results, published in a scholarly journal, will be distributed and discussed. Then, by discussing the article, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) will be presented and explained. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to practice commenting on similar analyses and drawing conclusions. As a member of the "family" of structural equation models (SEM), CFA is multivariate statistical analysis. In recent years, it has been increasingly used in social research.

 


2. Workshop on qualitative methods in the CCIs research (Room CR3)

Coordinator: Marhta Michailidou, assistant professor, Department of Communication, Media & Culture, Panteion University.

Procedure: An open discussion of methodological issues that participants (Ph.D. candidates, postgraduate students) face in their research. Participants are invited to set any questions regarding the general methodological approach of their research, or more specific methodological issues that may be of concern to them, such as a problem that may have arisen in conducting a (field or office) research, related to the validity of a method, and others.
